Our Promise and Policy Window
Our return policy provides a window of 30 days from the date of purchase for both refunds and exchanges. If more than 30 days have passed, we will be unable to offer you a full refund or exchange. This policy applies to purchases made in South Africa. We accept returns for both defective and non-defective products.
Eligibility and Product Condition
To be eligible for a return, the product must be in new condition only; this means it must be unused and in the exact condition you received it, including all original packaging.
For your return to be processed, we require a receipt or proof of purchase. Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer.
Items We Cannot Accept for Return
The following types of goods are exempt from being returned:
- Perishable goods (e.g., food, flowers, newspapers, magazines).
- Intimate or sanitary goods.
- Hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases.
- Gift cards.
- Downloadable software products.
- Some health and personal care items.
Partial Refunds and Restocking Fee
In certain situations, we can only offer a partial refund. Please note that a 10% restocking fee of the product price may be deducted from your refund in these cases:
- Books that show obvious signs of use.
- Opened media items (e.g., CD, DVD, VHS tape, software, video game, cassette tape, or vinyl record).
- Any item that is damaged or missing parts for reasons not caused by our error.
- Any item returned more than 30 days after delivery.
Sale items cannot be refunded; we only offer refunds on regular-priced items.
Refunds Process
Once we receive and inspect your returned item, we will notify you via email regarding its receipt and the approval or rejection of your refund request. If approved, your refund will be processed, and a credit will be automatically applied to your original method of payment within a certain timeframe (typically within 5 days of approval).
What if my refund is late or missing?
First, check your bank account again. Then, contact your credit card company, as it may take some time before the refund is officially posted. Next, contact your bank, as there is often processing time before a refund appears. If you have done all of this and still have not received your refund, please contact us at returns@computershack.co.za.
Exchanges
We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange an item for the same product, please email us at returns@computershack.co.za and send the item to our return address. We accept exchanges for these specific reasons.
Returning Your Item
Method and Address
You can return your product by mail or at a drop-off location. The mailing address for all returns is:
10 Glenrion Avenue, Quellerina, Johannesburg.
Shipping Costs and Labels
A return label will be included in the package and is free.
However, you are responsible for paying your own shipping costs to return your item. These shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of the return shipping will be deducted from your total refund amount.
For valuable items, you may wish to use a trackable shipping service or purchase shipping insurance, as we cannot guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
Gifts
If the item was not marked as a gift, or the gift giver shipped the order to themselves first, we will issue the refund to the gift giver, and they will be informed of your return.
If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you will receive a gift credit for the value of your return. A gift certificate will be mailed to you once the return is received.
